VIDEO AUDITIONS
Accepted until June 1, 2023 or until all positions are filled

Audition videos must include:
Dancer introduction with full name, resume, and headshot
Four to five barre exercises (one side)
Center adagio including développé a la seconde on both right and left, and en dehors pirouette
Center contemporary phrasing on flat
Ladies - Center pointe work including a pirouette, pique arabesque, and extension of choice

BECOME AN APPRENTICE
Vitacca Ballet seeks dancers ages 17+ to join the company as apprentices. Vitacca Ballet Apprentices are offered a year-long experience designed to support dancers seeking additional mentorship, training, and professional performance opportunities with Vitacca Ballet as they prepare to enter the job market. With a combined emphasis on artistic exploration and high-level technical development, we foster our professional level dancers to become intelligent, creative, highly skilled contributors to the field. Vitacca Ballet Apprentices train, rehearse, and perform alongside Vitacca Ballet.
In-person or video audition required. For continued consideration post-audition, interested dancers must attend a Vitacca summer intensive– either our Summer Ballet Intensive or Fusion 11.
SEASON DETAILS
- 32 Week Season | Start: August
- Daytime Training/Rehearsal Schedule: Monday–Friday, start/end times vary
- Apprentices receive performance stipends per performance & a pointe shoe allotment
- Scholarship invitations to all Vitacca Summer Intensives
- Training during the season is free for Apprentices
JOIN THE COMPANY
Vitacca Ballet is seeking versatile professional contemporary ballet dancers, ages 17+ for our upcoming season. Women, some pointe work required. Paid rehearsal/performance contracts run September through May, with possibility for extension. We are currently unable to offer visas for international applicants. Submissions accepted until positions are filled.
Dancers may audition via video submission (due 6/1/23) or in person on April 23. Please see below for video audition details. Registration required.
JOB DETAILS
As a repertoire-based company, Vitacca Ballet performs original works created by our Season Guest Choreographers. Our current choreographers include Garrett Smith, Tina Kay Bohnstedt, Madison Hicks, and Autumn Eckman. While season performance dates are still being confirmed, company premieres are planned for the spring alongside festival appearances and guesting performances throughout the year.
REHEARSALS
Sample Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:15am–2:30pm. Vitacca Ballet works primarily at the Houston location of Vitacca Vocational School for Dance (2311 Dunlavy St). Performances and additional rehearsals will occur throughout Houston and The Woodlands, TX.
PAY
Weekly compensation for rehearsal and performance.
Contracts run September 2023 through May 2024, with potential for extension
